Hello! My name is Kelly. I was born and raised in North Vancouver, which is also where I currently reside. I am a proud mother of two, wifey to an incredible man and lover of everything chocolate. I love to eat dessert… every day! So why not make it healthier and more nutritious? I started this blog to share my healthy dessert recipes, tips and tricks of living a dairy and egg free lifestyle, improve my food photography and encourage those at home that YOU can make these show stopping desserts too! Recipes are all dairy and egg free, but are often vegan and gluten free too. Intolerances and allergies are not stop signs. Merely speed bumps to navigate around which help you find some truly delicious desserts! Creating and sharing the desserts I make brings me so much joy, and I hope my desserts brings you the same joy in your home.
I have a background in nutrition which influences how I create and develop my recipes. You will often find different ingredients in my recipes, however I do try to use those ingredients in other recipes so it doesn’t just sit in the cupboard! Multi-use ingredients and recipes that can be transformed into other dishes are such a win in my books.
Food photography is a new found passion of mine. As many people were finding new hobbies when the pandemic hit in 2020, I decided to dedicate time to improve my photography game. And that is how Dessert Over Salad came into being. I love shooting the food I create, developing recipes along the way and sharing them with all of you!
